Local Student Government (LSG) of San Isidro Campus organized a short program for Teachers' Day after the flag-raising ceremony to honor educators for their dedication and service at the campus gymnasium today. The program consisted of remarks from LSG, student performances, and distribution of small tokens.

Campus Director Dr. Pastora S. De Guzman remarked on the important role of teachers as pillars of education and nation-building.

“Without the teachers, we would not be here… we all know that teachers are our aspirations and we reflect on our goals in life because of them,” Dr. De Guzman said.

Raven Hernandez, winner of Cantanova during ASFY, and Edrielyn Reyes, winner of Kundiman during Timpalak Literari-Sining, performed song numbers, while Samahang Kalinangan ng Pamantasan (SAKAP) presented a theatrical and spoken word piece titled “Buhos Dunong.” The Salinggaway Dance Troupe and first-year Team Dance winners also performed dance numbers.

SAKAP performers Crissa Binuya and Nathaniel Mendoza expressed their intent to bring attention to the realities and challenges faced by teachers.

“Yung naging concept namin, yung presentation na yun, isa siyang panawagan sa mga tao na ‘yung pagpapasalamat and pagpa-appreciate sa mga teacher [ay] hindi lang sa matatamis na salita, kundi yung kasama mo silang pinaglalaban,” Binuya shared.

Faculty members, staff, and students attended the event.
